Angelica Postu

Angelica Postu, music therapist and pianist, works at the University Medical Center for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Berlin. She is pursuing doctoral studies at the Berlin University of the Arts, inside the Music Therapy Department, and is teaching Introduction to Music Therapy at the National University of Music in Bucharest.
In 2017, she founded the Romanian Association of Music Therapy, unique in the country, with the aim of promoting the theoretical and practical foundations and methods of the Western School of Music Therapy, which has a tradition of over 70 years.
Combining her experience in psychology and music therapy with that gained as a pianist on stage, Angelica Postu is a trainer and speaker in the process of personal development, awareness, management and understanding of emotions through music and its impact on well-being. Working actively as a trainer for musicians, she contributes significantly to developing and raising awareness of the importance of their emotional health. Through conferences, articles and workshops for professional musicians, she discusses theoretical and practical issues related to self-care and well-being in order to prevent the occurance of emotional disorders.
Angelica Postu is a graduate of the National University of Music in Bucharest and the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in piano performance, as well as of the Psychology Faculty from the Titu Maiorescu University in Bucharest. She is active in clinical research and writes articles on music therapy and the emotional well-being of professional musicians for publications in Europe. She gained her professional experience in psychiatric and oncology hospitals and clinics in Spain, Belgium and Germany, where she currently lives, and is frequently invited to give lectures and workshops at universities in Romania as well as at mental health forums and conferences in Austria, Switzerland, Hungary and Germany.
